I served as Communications Director for the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), coordinating a small team of international staff and volunteers to direct all social media, website, print and event communications in collaboration with GEN’s five regional networks worldwide. We rolled out a rebranding campaign, produced engaging reports for members and policymakers, redesigned UX on the network’s signature interactive map, and coordinated an online summit for over 8000 participants. Further examples of content I produced are available here.
I began my work with GEN as Marketing and Outreach as Communications Officer for the European Ecovillage Conference 2017 in Sweden. The role involved facilitating a team of contractors, staff and volunteers working across Europe with different organizations to promote the conference. We successfully met our goal of hosting the largest conference in the organization’s 21 year history. I created content, coordinated translation into 12 languages, and built outreach tracking protocols for tens of thousands of contacts across Europe and beyond.
Since 2017, I have supported a range of communications goals for GEN, including on and offline event publicity by coordinating with keynote speakers (see teasers for my interviews with Charles Eisenstein and Satish Kumar below) as well as in print, like this article our team solicited in The Guardian with Right Livelihood Award Winner Helena Norberg-Hodge.
