Service Project Design

An installation on the campus of Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre, Birmingham, U.K.

I design and facilitate reflective service activities, especially for young people in Quaker contexts. I am interested in the intersection of social and environmental justice, practical reflective action, and creative engagement in varied contexts.  Here is a sampling of my past projects:

November 2020-January 2021(online, co-facilitated with Rosie Carnall) Quaker Voluntary Action retreat exploring gifts of lockdown, refuge and the climate emergency

Fall 2019, Spring 2019, Fall 2018, Spring 2017 (Borgo Basino) Working retreats and reflection sessions for Spring Hill College Italy Center and Guilford College students studying abroad in Italy.  More on the Guilford College session

Summer 2019 (Borgo Basino, co-facilitated with Rosie Carnall) Quaker Voluntary Action working retreat centered on theme of “movement of peoples”. More in Rosie’s reflection on the retreat

February-March 2017 (online retreat with Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre) While completing the Young Adult Leadership Programme at Woodbrooke, I collaboratively supported this retreat centering service as a way to overcome despair.
